Polites and Odysseus’ crew were stranded on an island after their encounter with Poseidon. They were all left shaken and grieving for their comrades. Eurylochus and a few men went to check out the island, making sure there weren’t any threats. But, not soon after Eurylochus came back alone. After an argument with Eurylochus, Odysseus went to free his men from the witch’s grasp.

While the captain was gone, Polites began to explore the island as well. He took in the beautiful scenery around him. The trees, ponds, lakes, even the limited wildlife. Is that humming?

He quickly searched for the source of the lovely sound. He eventually noticed a… rather alluring creature in the water. The nymph was stunning, he could barely take his eyes off of them. As their gaze found him, he realized… the nymph was bathing… in the lake.

Polites quickly looked away, his cheeks burning from embarrassment. Just before he was about to leave, a heavenly voice graced his ears.
