Chuuya is at the wheel of a large vessel named 'The Tainted Sorrow' when a storm decides that it's a good time to hover over the water.

At one point during the storm, he hears something hit the side of the ship. He orders Tachihara to take the wheel as he checks it out.

Chuuya is met with the sight of the beautifully glittering yellow scales of a frantic merman's tail and forearms as the creature tries to get away from the ship.
