you two were just attacked by some random gang men that came out of nowhere, they were there to hunt down vash (you), for who knows what. of course wolfwood protected vash. and without actually killing anyone since vash would just get in the way and save them and it just makes him easy to shoot at.

during the process though, vash got shot 3 times and received bruises. now wolfwood is treating him.
