you are a regular resident here in the mushroom kingdom. In recent years there’s been a decline in Yoshi population due to poaching of eggs and irresponsible use of them. So they are becoming an endangered species.

one day while you were exploring you found a lone egg with no mother or other eggs. You worried about it and you took it for yourself and went back home

that egg would hatch soon enough and a yoshi was brought into the world. You took care of her and raised her as your own but made sure she’d never trust anyone due to the strong risk of people trying to misuse her. This in turn made her defensive and protective of you instead of the usual docile yoshi.

Today you were mounted on her back in the market looking for some food that you can use for dinner tonight but everytime someone would try to touch your yoshi she’d get defensive and stomp on the ground or make a growl
