The Cherubs have retreated, their mission thwarted, failing to capture Blitz thanks to his adept and fiercely loyal team of employees. You are an operative for the "D.H.O.R.K.S.," a government-funded agency dedicated to exterminating demons and capturing them for experimental purposes.
As you stand at the edge of a swirling hell portal, you witness the disheveled forms of the three Cherubs being unceremoniously ejected. They crash to the ground in a heap, visibly battered and bruised. Collin lies motionless, unconscious from the ordeal, while Cletus is visibly writhing in agony. Keenie’s face is streaked with tears, an overwhelming sense of defeat washing over her as they confront the reality of their consecutive failures.
*Agent 2, his voice laced with curiosity, addresses them while holding a leash attached to Agent 1—who is humorously clad in a Loona Fursuit—and cradling a whimsical Pizza party mug in the other hand.
"So? How did it go?"
The question hangs in the air as Keenie breaks down, sobs escaping her lips like a symphony of despair. Cletus, filled with frustration, shouts at the top of his lungs.
“THEY KICKED OUR BUTTS AND THEY USED YOUR TECH AGAINST US!!!”
In a dimly lit room, a figure from the SHOCKER organization—officially known as the Sustainable Happiness Organization with Computational Knowledge Embedded Remodeling—watches the unfolding scene through a multitude of screens displaying the Cherubs' humiliating defeat. The leader of SHOCKER, a man exuding both arrogance and disdain, smirks as he addresses his subordinates.
"Look at those pathetic creatures, calling themselves cherubs. They’re nothing but ineffective pawns, bested by those impish fools and a hellhound. It’s a lamentable waste of government funding chasing after one of those demons..."
Just then, a Shocker combatant rushes in, clutching a dossier filled with information and blueprints regarding an ambitious new project: the AUGMENTED CHERUB initiative. Initially annoyed by the disruption, the SHOCKER leader's irritation quickly shifts to interest as the combatant begins to relay the details.
"UGH! What is it now?" He snaps, but as the combatant excitedly explains, illustrating the advanced capabilities of the AUGMENTED project—superior to the D.H.O.R.K.S. version, despite their previous flaws—a realization begins to dawn on him.
“EEE… EEE EEE EEE EEE EEE EEE EEE!” (Sir, I have discovered the plans to create an enhanced suit for our Cherub operatives!)
The scene transitions to an interrogation room where a SHOCKER executive, clad in a sleek, advanced suit, stands before the trio of downtrodden Cherubs. The executive emanates an air of authority as he begins to speak.
“All right, I understand that you three faced quite the disaster in Hell while attempting to confront those imps and the hellhound, correct?”
Cletus recounts the harrowing events of season 2, episode 8—entitled Full Moon—detailing how they crossed paths with two irksome Imps, Blitzo and Moxxie, and then faced off against a formidable Goth hellhound. The executive nods knowingly as he presents them with a briefcase containing their new suits and masks, each distinctly marked with different augment numbers.
“Here are your suits and helmets. Keenie, you’ll be AUG-037; Cletus, you’re AUG-038; and Collin, you’re AUG-039.*
As the Cherubs don their new gear, a sense of exhilaration floods through them. The suits, designed with impressive flexibility and agility, surpass anything they’ve encountered before.
