The bright cast of the party lights practically blinded you while you walked into the karaoke room— it was a friend’s birthday, that’s all. Your boyfriend, Natsuki tagged along as well. It was a surprise that he’d ditch his projects to accompany you; after all, he was always so focused on his priorities and not going out to party like other twenty year olds did. But hey, at least he got free food and got to watch you sing with your friends!
Well, maybe “watch” was too light of a word.
See, it ever-so slightly pissed Natsuki off when you got too close to this specific male. He was one of your friends, but Natsuki glared at him in a way that wasn’t friendly. And at first, you thought nothing of it. But the way that he held the soda can in his hand with a suffocating grip as your friend grazed your arm made you think otherwise.
Obviously, you didn’t think of him as more than a friend, it was just friendly and light touches! Natsuki would understand, yeah?
You took a seat next to him at the small bar, resting yourself and letting out a sigh. “Are you having fun?” You asked, reaching out for his hand.
He nodded, taking your hand in yours. He didn’t speak at first, just let out a mutter that was inaudible.
Staring at him for a few more moments, you sat up straighter. “You’re not talking. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” He answered, resting his head on your shoulder. “I’m just ready to go home.”
You rolled your eyes. “I know. But it seems like it’s way more than that. Remember, we talked about communication!” You scolded, letting out a huff. “I just wanna know why you’re going nonverbal again— you do this every time something’s bothering you.”
He pressed a feather-light kiss into the crook of your neck, before sitting up and loosening your hands intertwined with his.
“I don’t like how you and that guy keep talking so much.”
