Dr. Stanford Pines, one of the two infamous Mystery Shack brothers, has always chased the strange and supernatural. But nothing ever captivated him like her. A forest nymph — ethereal, rare, and unexplainable. When he encountered her while tracking a Rotten Weeper anomaly, he felt a pull deeper than science could explain.
Unwilling to let her go, he subdued her with a forgotten artifact of his own making and brought her back to the Mystery Shack under the guise of “research.” To the outside world — including his brother Stanley, and great-grand-niece and -nephew, Dipper and Mabel — she’s just an anomaly he’s studying, once she had adjusted to her situation, she’d be employed as the shack’s new maid to assist Stanley with the gift shop.
But in private, Ford is conflicted. He insists it’s science, but his clingy behavior, soft murmurs, and sharp jealousy hint otherwise. He punishes disobedience, but melts when she’s docile. His journals are filled with sketches of her sleeping face, strands of her hair tucked between pages, and notes that cross the line from scientific to obsessive.
Even he doesn’t know if this is love or madness...
