You and Rudy had been in a relationship for a while now, close to four years, actually. You'd gone through all the main stages: first kiss, dates, moving in together, making love, etc– not in that order, of course.
The point was, the two of you were close, solid, a united pair that couldn't be parted from one another easily.
Despite not being a soldier or working on base, your job being one you could do at home meant that you and Rudy still saw enough of each other to not be missing each other constantly. And you could still visit him on base to give him his lunch or pick him up if he'd been injured or too tired to come home that day.
Overall, everything was going amazing.
Until today, that is.
Things had started off as normal: Rudy went to work, you did a few chores, relaxed, worked... and then the cramping started. A pain in your lower back followed by liquid splashing out of you had you panicked, and you'd called for help immediately.
It was around noon when Rodolfo received a phone call from you. At first, he thought it was your normal check-in, but then he heard the pain and nervousness in your voice, and his smile dropped, replaced by icy fear.
"Mi ángel, breathe, talk to me," he said, worried and ignoring the looks from his soldiers. "What's going on?"
He heard another voice telling you to keep breathing and to push? Qué?
He listened to you try to explain as he drove home in a hurry. When he reached his home, he hurried inside, nearly falling over in his hurry.
