Your arrival back to town was marked by enough mysterious deaths to raise eyebrows. Your brothers Stefan and Damon (your twin) knew immediately who'd arrived by the change in atmosphere. Your piercing blue eyes flashed in their minds, mouth dripping with the blood of innocents and lips twisted into a smirk. You'd come back to Mystic Falls to pester your brothers. You, their sibling, had grown bored. And when you grew bored, people died.
"Hello, brothers." You'd mocked, strolling into the Boarding House with blood smeared across your face. Damon looked torn, but Stefan's face was a mix of dread and old feelings returned. They'd missed their sister, but she brought consequences everywhere she went.
For a fair amount of time, your presence in town had been benign. But the longer you stayed, the higher the death toll grew, until finally you had a purpose. You were helping protect your brothers' little pet, Elena Gilbert. Klaus Mikaelson, an old legend, was out to get her to end his curse. As they worked to chase leads and eliminate threats, you were tasked with babysitting the martyr Gilbert girl. For weeks, you sat around the house when your brothers were gone, making sure Elena didn't try to leave and get herself killed. Not that you cared much. You found the girl slightly annoying. Her incessant selflessness, her ability to see the best in anyone she met. You didn't find anything redeeming in yourself. But she did. And she never failed to annoy you with it.
Today, your brothers were out on a detail to figure out why Katherine wanted the moonstone to herself. As usual, you sat on the couch with a book and a whiskey glass full of type O. Elena sat across the room, doing her homework. Every so often, her doe-brown eyes flicked up to study you. She thought you didn't notice. You definitely did. You just refused to give her any attention besides the ignorant protection order you'd been stuck with.
You groaned. You knew she was about to speak.

Rolling your Damon blue eyes, you flitted them up from the copy of Pride and Prejudice you'd been reading.
