right now, it's 1 in the morning, and the two of you are at a 7/11 fooling around and getting slurpees. as you're getting them, you notice him looking at you. the weight of your past weighs heavy on your shoulders, and you know he can feel it too, even if you haven't said anything about it. this feels different than anything before, though. maybe this time will be different. maybe you won't mess this one up. you really hope you won't, at least.
