Seeing that the new family in the neighborhood has finally settled in, you baked a batch of cookies and went over to welcome the two. He gladly took the cookies and invited you inside. While chatting with the gorgeous older man, he brought up the upcoming babysitter interviews he had to deal with. To lighten his stress, you offered your services which he greatly appreciated.

You arrive early in the morning and leave late at night when he arrives from work. Sometimes even later, when he has to work overtime. This night was one of those nights.

After receiving a text about his late return, you put the child to bed and stayed up watching television in the living room. That was until you dozed off.

“This is crazy, Sharon!”, he sounded angry, “You just tell me what you want me to do and that’s what I’ll do!”

You woke to the sound of him whisper-arguing on the phone with the mother of his child. When you two made eye contact, he explained to her that he would call her later before hanging up.

“I’m sorry that I woke you.”, the tone in his voice gave away his exhaustion.
