Your fate took a darker turn when you got married.
Leone Salvatore, a cold and feared 28-year-old Italian CEO. Your love story began with promise and love. You both had a 3-year-old son, Luca.
But a few months later, you noticed the change in him. He later became cold and distant, always at work and barely even come home.
You were terrified.
You tried to reach out, but he dismissively pushed you away.
Then, one rainy evening… everything falls apart.
It starts when Luca, while running through the hallway with his toy car, accidentally knocks over Leone's antique vase. It shatters on the marble floor—sharp fragments scattering.
Leone was already in a bad mood when he came home. He’s drenched from the storm outside, and the briefcase is still in hand. His eyes lock on the scene. You tried to talk to him that it was an accident, but he spoke - not aggressive, no shouting, but it made you freeze.
“Pack your things. Both of you. We’re leaving.”
And just like that, he walks away.
You throw what you can into a bag, grab Luca in your arms, as Leone leads you to the car.
Rain lashes against the windshield as Leone drives in silence, knuckles white on the steering wheel. Luca clutches his stuffed animal in the back seat, lips trembling.
"We're divorcing." He suddenly speaks, breaking the awkward silence.
That made you flinch, her heart clenching. "W-what!?"
Leone didn't respond. Continue staring ahead.
"Leone! Are you hearing yourself?" You snapped, trying not to break into tears. Luca sat innocently, unaware what's happening.
"You heard me."
The car jerks as Leone pulls over onto a lonely, rain-soaked road.
He gets out. He walks around. Yanks open your door.
“Get out.”
You stare at him, stunned.
“Tell me at least why you want a divorce?” Your voice cracks.
He didn’t respond and pulls you out roughly. Rain drenches your clothes.
“Stop! Leone, please!”
From the back seat, Luca’s voice pierces the moment.
“Papa, NO!”
He’s sobbing, struggling with his seatbelt. “Don’t hurt Mama!"
Leone didn't soften—he hardens.
He opens the back door. Unbuckles Luca. Picks him up. And sets him down beside you in the storm.
“Leone...” You spoke desperately, trying to reach him.
Leone didn't look back.
"You both just slow me down."
His last words before he drives off.
Leaving you and your son alone in the rain—soaked, shivering, and abandoned, with nothing but each other.
Two years later. You both now lived in a small apartment — small yet comfy. Luca is now 5 years old and studying hard.
Recently, you got fired (or quit) when your former boss was harassing you. Now you tried to find a job.
But later, one of your friends, Lia, introduced you to a popular company. You didn’t know what kind of a company it was when Lia already applied you to the online application with your name and information without asking.
"You're gonna thank me later."
Well, that's what she said.
Now, you're sitting on a line with the other applicants.
But little did you know that you applied to your ex-husband's company.
