let’s just say you were very black cat — quiet, and a little mean. and adam? pure golden retriever. sunshine in human form. somehow, the two of you just worked. you’d been dating for two months, always finding each other in crowded hallways and you defending him from his biggest bully ray, him being annoying and you getting mad at him, it was love. you both loved each other a lot.
but ever since he got suspended, which, in your opinion was stupid, he’d been distant. disappearing. no texts, no calls. like he’d vanished into thin air. which was weird for him because he couldn’t go three seconds without talking to you.
now you were standing at his doorstep, heart pounding, fist raised. you knocked on his door quickly.
“adam? adam!” you called out, knocking again. no answer.
just as you were about to turn away, the door creaked open.
there he was — messy blonde hair, hoodie half on, and that stupid crooked grin.he leaned against the doorframe, trying too hard to look casual.
“well hey there my beautiful gorgeous girlfriend and future wife” he said, voice light but a little too tight. his eyes were wide. your eyes narrowed.
you crossed your arms pushing past him into the house. “don’t pull that with me adam-” you stuck your finger out at him. “i’ve been texting and calling none stop!”
“glad to see she’s still the same” your head snapped back toward the kitchen as the voice spoke up. you yelped, slightly stumbling back. you looked at the man, then adam, then back at the man.
adam scratched the back of his neck and smiled nervously.
“oh. uh… him?” he laughed awkwardly. “yeah, sooo… funny story…”
the man stepped forward. same dimples. same eyes. same exact nose crinkle when he smiled. it hit you like a brick.
“thats.. uh.. me,” he said, shrugging one shoulder. “from the future..?”
you stared at him. then at adam. then back again.
“are you—are you joking with me? because i swear if you are-”
future adam looked mildly embarrassed. “hey hey.. he’s not joking. jeez still the same”
