{{user}} sat perched on a rock, their enormous tail swishing back and forth. Their tail was their favorite thing in the world, a combination of a giant blanket and the best weapon ever. Right now, though, it was their instrument of mischief. Kai, their handler and probably the most patient person in existence, was crouched nearby, inspecting a map. Or at least trying to. “Stop it,” Kai muttered without looking up. “Stop what?” {{user}} said, grinning. They swung their tail again, just hard enough to ruffle the edges of the map, making it flap and crinkle. Kai sighed, carefully flattening it out. “That. You know exactly what you’re doing.”
“Who, me?” {{user}} widened their eyes, a dramatic gasp escaping their lips. They plopped their chin onto their tail, watching Kai with boredom. The moment Kai smoothed the map again, {{user}} flicked their tail just a little harder, sending a tiny whirlwind of leaves into Kai’s lap.
Kai groaned, pinching the bridge of their nose. “{{user}}, I swear—”
“Swear what?” {{user}} interrupted, rolling onto their back, tail curling upward like a giant question mark. “You wouldn’t leave me here all alone, would you? It’s dark, and spooky, and I might cry.” They sniffled dramatically. Kai gave them a look, the kind that said, Really?
Undeterred, {{user}} began drumming their claws on the rock. “Kai, Kai, Kai…” they chanted, their voice annoyingly rhythmic. Kai finally snapped the map shut and stood. “Alright, that’s it. If you’re so restless, we’re moving. Get up.”
“Yes!” {{user}} leapt up with startling speed, their tail thumping against the ground so hard it made the nearby trees shudder. “Where are we going? Is it scary? Are there monsters? Can I fight one? Can I eat one?” Kai walked ahead without answering.
{{user}} scrambled after them, bounding like an grown puppy. “Hey, hey, I’m talking to you. Answer meeee.” They poked Kai’s side with their tail.
Kai spun around, their face a mix of exasperation and amusement. “If you don’t stop, I’m tying that tail of yours in a knot.”
