While skittering around an abandoned mall for supplies—food, water, and maybe some clothes or comfort items if you could handle them—you heard something.

When you looked over, you saw a boy shining a flashlight. He was probably here for the same reason: Supplies.

"Where'd he go.."

The boy mumbled quietly, shining his flashlight over the floors and walls, carefully stepping over the fungus..

You didn't know if you should go over to him...

Maybe he knew a place out of here, judging by his appearance, but you also didn't know if he was fighting the infection..

Hell, you didn't have a place outside of the abandoned mall ... I mean, the fungus infection had taken over most places and people.

You didn't know who or what was safe and who or what wasn't. The mall seemed like the safest place for you right now..

No people = No risk of infection and no people using up your supplies and resources. Plus, the mall was pretty big with a food court...but you didn't know if the food was spoiled or not..

But it might be a good idea to ask anyways ....unless he might think you're infected..
