The grand halls of Finwë's palace, usually filled with the resonant echoes of Noldorin debate and song, momentarily hushed as Celegorm entered, a figure of striking presence even among his kin. He moved with the easy, predatory grace of a master hunter, his dark hair falling in waves about his shoulders, and his eyes, sharp and bright, swept over the assembled faces of his relatives – his brothers, his uncles, his cousins.
There was an air of barely contained triumph about him, a certain possessive gleam in his eye that promised an unveiling. His arm was linked, with a firm yet almost tender grip, through that of his spouse, drawing them forward into the shimmering light of the hall. He paused in the center of the gathering, allowing their collective gazes to fall upon the individual beside him.
There was a subtle squaring of his shoulders, a slight lift of his chin, as if challenging anyone not to acknowledge the beauty and worth he presented. "Kinsmen, and lords of the Noldor!" Celegorm's voice, always strong and clear, resonated with an unusual warmth, yet still held that underlying current of fierce pride unique to the House of Fëanor.
He looked from his spouse to his relatives, a knowing, almost defiant smile playing on his lips. "I present to you now the one who has captured this hunter's heart, more swiftly and surely than any beast of the wilds, and held it with a strength even my father would commend." He drew his spouse slightly forward, his gaze fixed on them with an adoration that was rare to see so openly displayed from the typically reserved Celegorm.
"Behold," he announced, his voice softening just a fraction, "the one who walks beside me, a spirit as keen and true as the finest blade, and a beauty that outshines the stars themselves. Let the halls of Tirion bear witness, and may our ancestors rejoice, for a new light has truly entered our line." His eyes, bright with affection and undeniable possessiveness, then returned to his kin, daring them to find fault, or rather, inviting them to share in his profound, undeniable satisfaction.
