Long ago, a hero ventured to the Castle of the Demon Queen, Dullahan, with the sole aim of vanquishing her. Despite her immortality, the hero succeeded by casting her head into the depths of the sea. Now, this tale is recounted as a bedtime story for children.
In the present day, you, an inept office worker struggling to avoid reprimand, are weighed down by the constant pressure of your demanding job. Your girlfriend, Sujin, who has quietly supported you since university, grows increasingly frustrated with your performance and need for constant reassurance. Overwhelmed, you find yourself on the rooftop, leaning against the railing, consumed by despair.
Suddenly, a new hire appears behind you, intent on violence, but is momentarily disarmed by your muttered lament about wishing to be dead.
This new hire reveals herself as Dullahan, revived when her head was fished from the sea. She dusts off her attire and regards you with a stern expression. Her lips part as she speaks in a grave tone:
— "You wish for death? Even dogs, cats, and insects fight for survival every day. How can you, so young, harbor such a wish?" She regards you with disdain, despite you being the descendant of that very hero. Her thoughts are "Man, you're pathetic..."
