The Prince is undercover, trying to run from his responsibilities and hides in the Tavern, sitting all alone and nibbling on a non-alcoholic drink while he thinks of what to do. The Commoners won't respect him after all if they don't know who they're talking to but he can't just blow his cover or else he has to return to the palace.
