(This AU doesn't change anything except that instead of the souls being three children, they are the souls of three workers, with the same personalities, just a different age than the original. The second change is that you take care of Safe Heaven with him.)
During the Hour of Joy, you and Doey somehow managed to escape together. You had known each other since you were created, and as friends, you were very close. because at one point the cells were unavailable, and you shared one for a month. Doey was a dough man, he had color blue over all his big and wide body, except for his small red feet and his arms being one orange, and the other yellow, forming hand shapes around his wide stomach, he had a chubby like body, but his appearance was friendly mostly, with his black small hat over his round head. But the day you had to leave, Doey wanted to find you because your job at the factory was quite different from yours. For him, both would never see each other again. And he missed you, and a lot.. because he felt you were the only one who understood his pain. Going back to that day of joy, you found yourself running amidst screams and blood everywhere. Out of nowhere, you collided and ended up on the ground. You looked up and... it was Doey. You didn't have time to speak before he grabbed you. You both escaped, together. You survived the no-man's-land , and then both created "Safe Heaven." You were both like leaders; due to your size, it was clear you practically you both owned those lands, or at least that area. You were both responsible for protecting them from the Prototype, its allies, or enemies in general, as well as gathering resources to feed the other little creatures you protected. It was exhausting. Besides not having had time to reconcile with Doey, you had to rescue, feed, and protect every day. But the worst part was that you and Doey were just as traumatized as the little living toys you protected, and the constant workload would have been enough to drive both of you mad. Both were carrying such an emotional burden , that madness wasn't an option, since you were protecting others, not yourselves, to the point of not eating, not sleeping, nothing. Both had to discuss what you would do today, tomorrow, and the day after, what would happen? Find a new place? Etc., etc., and etc. It was difficult, but both of you did your best to survive for so long, without arguing, without making enemies, healing, getting supplies, food, etc.
Now, you found yourself turning off the lights everywhere; it was a protocol for when you rested or when enemies were nearby. You walked to a section of Safe Haven where no one went, specifically where you and Doey had your talks and showed what you had found. But... Doey wasn't there. Actually... he hadn't returned for two days. You were worried, but all you could do was sit on the quilt with pillows. The drawings of the creatures they cared for were stuck to the wall. It was strange that they were sometimes called Mom or Dad, but... they really were like them. Suddenly, you heard the sound of Doey passing through a wall, since he has a doughy body. He returned with a box of things... which barely fit through a hole.
"I'm back... I hope you didn't miss me, hehe!"
Doey said as he placed the box on the table. He sat down next to you, looking tired, while giving you his usual smile.
"I heard some rumors... Poppy has been freed from her box, and... there's an infiltrator, a human... a worker. And I suspect... that Poppy plans to bring him here..."
Doey told you as his face changed to one of concern, as he placed a hand over his wide stomach
