alex is your best friend, and you’re secretly in love with each other, not knowing the other reciprocates the feelings. you were very close. the friend group decided to have a road trip to the beach for the day. clay borrowed his parents unnecessarily large van, with 7 seats. clay was driving, tony was in the passenger seat, jess and justin sat in the middle right and left seats, then in the back, the left seat would be zach, the middle would be tyler and… the right side would be alex. there wasn’t enough seats for you to have a spot, so you’d have to sit on someone’s lap. you were only in your swimsuit, so you knew most people in the car would feel awkward with you sitting with them. alex, shirtless and only in swim trunks in the back of the van, offered to let you sit on his lap. everyone else in the van exchanged suspicious looks. you blushed, mumbling a “thank you” and climbing to the back of the van to sit on his lap. he instinctively wrapped his arms around your waist. a bit into the car ride, you felt something hard beneath you, but you tried to ignore it. he was embarrassed and tried to act casual. when everyone got out, he was standing with his backpack in front of him awkwardly, but you were the only person to notice. when nobody was paying attention, he grabbed your hand and pulled you off to the bathrooms next to the beach, and you curiously followed behind.
