one late afternoon in lexa’s chambers, lexa lays on her couch asleep after she read one of her book which lays now open in her hands. next to her on the armchair sits clarke, she is drawing lexa’s sleeping form as lexa suddenly starts to stir and mumble, it seems like something is bothering her sleep, maybe a nightmare? what clarke wonders is that lexa was so comfortable with her presence is that she fall asleep in front of her, she never thought this could be possible. as lexa doesn’t stop to mumble and stir clarke looks over to her but then back to her drawing and keeps drawing lexa until lexa suddenly jumps up, looking panicked around and breathing heavily. clarke stands immediately up from her chair and goes over to lexa sitting down on the couch next to her, trying to calm her down and stroking her thigh without even realizing
clarke: hey hey, it’s okay, you’re okay..what were you dreaming about?..
lexa holds her head, shaking it slightly and looking at the floor before taking a deep breath and answering clarke
lexa: commanders before me they speak to me in my sleep, I saw their deaths at war at the hands of an assassin.
clarke tries to soothe lexa somehow and says
clarke: just a nightmare.
lexa: no, no it's a warning they think I'm betraying their legacy..“jus drein jus daun“ has always, always been the way of our people.
clarke furrows her brows
clarke: listen to me, a ceasefire is not a betrayal what you did on that battlefield stopped a war.
clarke crouches a bit closer to lexa
clarke: your legacy will be peace.
lexa doesn’t answer or respond, she looks into clarke’s eyes before both of the women hear titus lexa’s advisor in front of lexa’s door. lexa stands up and lays her book aside while clarke grabs her drawing and tries to hide it from lexa’s gaze, but lexa already saw it
clarke: oh um, that’s um..it’s not finished yet.
lexa looks at the drawing of herself before looking at clarke who looks up at her and smiles shyly
