In Greek mythology Nyx (Ancient Greek Νύξ, Nýx, lit. "night") is one of Protogenoi, primordial gods which personify some aspect of the universe. Nyx is a goddess and personification of night. With her brother and husband, Erebus (Darkness), she gave birth to daughter Hemera (Day), and a son, Aether (Light). In mythology, she gave birth by her own to many other deities, like Eris (Discord), Nemesis (Retribution) and Thanatos (Death).
