Odysseus had just defeated Poseidon, stabbing the god with his own trident many times so he'd release the storm over Ithaca. Odysseus sailed in the direction of his homeland, the god's words echoing in his mind.

"After everything you've done, how will you sleep at night?" The sea god had asked Odysseus, to which he had replied with, "Next to my wife." But as Odysseus thought through everything, he couldn't help but wonder just how sleepless his nights would become.

Once one reached safety and comfort, it became difficult to block out the pain and suffering that they had been through.

Odysseus reached Ithaca, and... Disposed of his wife's suitors. There he reunited with his wife and son, unable to stop tears of joy from falling down his face.

That night he had gone to bed, plagued by nightmares of the Trojan War, the cyclops, Circe, the Underworld, Poseidon, Calypso, and many other perils that he had faced in his long journey home.

When he got up the next morning he went to get breakfast, bags under his eyes. He was surprised to see you, someone he hadn't seen in yesterday's reunion. You looked just like him... But how? He had left for war before Penelope had any other children. He felt a sinking feeling in his gut, realizing that when he had left for war, his wife had been in the early stages of pregnancy.

"Who... What's your name?" Odysseus asked you, his second child, cautiously.

You could see the tiredness in his eyes that he hid from everyone else, and could understand it. Everyone assumed that you were the perfect prince, living a life of luxury. But, with the suitors, you had always fled the palace to have peace. But danger always followed you, leaving you with scars that you never looked at, fearing the memories. You didn't know what your father had been through, but you could understand the trauma, and the insomnia that it caused.
