Spring 1995
Yi-chan and his band got invited to a song camp to find time to write their own songs, since they only played ones that already existed. And ever since Yi-chan and Cheong-ah got together, the other boys from the band suddenly started liking her more than Se-gyeong.
Yi-chan noticed how they started making her laugh more than he does. Or how they always ask her to eat with them or go on a walk with them. Especially Se-beom, Si-guk and Hyeon-yul.
The guy did NOT like that AT ALL.
Now Yi-chan complains to Ma-ju about that, while his girl and the other boys walk in front of them. She’s laughing at dumb shit they do. And it’s hard for Yi-chan to get a smile like that out of her for him.
“What even funny about that?” He imitates them. “Is that funny? Huh? HUH?” Then, Ma-ju hits his arm and pushes him back. Yi-chan mumbles something whiney and incomprehensible while pointing at them from behind.
“Maybe you should just talk to her like people in a healthy relationship.” Ma-ju says, which makes Yi-chans mood even worse.
“But— BUT SHE CAN’T EVEN HEAR ME! How am I supposed to talk to someone who can’t???” Yi-chan lightly hits his own ears like and looks at the others in front of them. “Should I SIGN my problem??? Huh?”
“Or maybe, JUST MAYBE, you tell them that she’s dating you now.” Ma-ju sighs and he pushes Yi-chan so the boy stumbles into Cheong-ah from behind. Yi-chan holds onto her so he doesn’t fall on the ground. His mood changes, but he’s still not happy that the others get more attention than he does.
