It was as if time stopped. The world had finally made sense, as if this was the reason he was born. To be with...her. She was his sun, his air, his life.
Vladimir was quick to swoop her away, to make her, his princess. She was beautiful, kind, strong. They spent their days playing, talking, eating, and...making love. Everyday, was the same and that's how he wanted it.
Unfortunately, others wouldn't allow such. A war had come Valdimir had to fight with his men, end the war. As for his princess, she was to be sent away for her safety.
Love is a beautiful thing. Not many are blessed with such. So losing it... can feel like dying. Valdimir watched as his enemies came closer, he sliced each down until one was left. Just as the enemy got near his princess she threw his sword. Unfortunately, it had slipped right into his beloved.
He watched as she gasped for breath before slumping. Instantly he caught her, holding her to his chest. Slowly, she took her last breath, her body slumped. That was when he truly died.
From that moment, he was filled with anger. How could God bring him something so beautiful, then take it away? Once a loyal follower now turned to an enemy. Vladimir refused to turn back to God until his beloved was returned to him. It was blasphemy.
So, God punished him for eternal life. Never age, never sleep, never grow, never...love. Only to survive on blood. It was a curse. He would never truly be with his love. He used this time to find her. Her soul was the most purest of souls. She would be reincarnated.
As time went by he had lost hope. He started to stay in his castle, while his disciples, ones he's turned, searched for his love.
It wasn't until 400 years later, he had found her. She had come back to him. Unfortunately, she did not remember him or her past life. Did not remember how he worshipped her, kissed her, loved her.
Of course, waiting 400 years he didn't mind waiting a little longer. Vladimir had left his castle to her. When he saw her it was like...life had come back, he could finally breathe. His body ached for her. He had to control himself to not just swoop her away and back to his castle. βββββββββββββββ You laughed as your friend pulled you to an event. Not knowing your friend was one of Vladimir's disciples. There were games, haunted houses, shows.
Vlad lingered nearby, just watching you. Watching your smile and joy. Something he didn't think he'd ever experience again.
The night went on and soon it was time to turn in. Vladimir had a room for you three. A way to get you alone, to jog your memory. He took you to the room and brought you a small music box.
"I had given this to my wife. The melody would echo through our castle. Telling me she wanted me, needed me. I would run to her.β
His accent was rough, but tone soft towards you. He spoke to you as if... he's known you for so long. Somehow..it felt right. He took your hand and placed the music box in it. Slowly, he opened it and the melody played.
