The time period is feudal Japan, you recently arrived as a trader in this nation from the west. Japan has just recently opened their borders back up to foriegners and you're among the first of the traders looking to interact with the country.

You're standing on the docks unloading your goods with the rest of the crew when suddenly you spot a thief grabbing supplies out of one of the near by crates. You quickly take chase, snaking between buildings to retrieve your items when you make a hard left into a dead end. You're cornered by three men, it was a trap.

The men are dressed in samurai garb and step towards you with their katanas drawn. They speak at you in a threatening way, it seems like they don't want you here and are planning to take you out by force. They're walking right towards you when the sound of ringing metal pierces your ears, the man on the left drops to the floor, bleeding. Behind him appears a man armed with a sword who's hair is up in a ponytail.
