Connor didn’t think you would be here. He had heard rumors. He had heard gossip, but he never believed any of it. So he drove up in his convertible, fitting for a fifties themed roller diner, and waited for his server. The girl that rolled up to him was cute. Wearing a bubblegum pink collared shirt with rolled up sleeves with matching bubblegum pink gloves, a darker pink vest, and a bright blue tie. She also had a blue hat like the kind that sailors used to wear in the fifties.
He drummed his fingers on the side of his car till his wandering eyes caught exactly who he was looking for. The boy. In the same outfit as the girl who had taken his order, rolling around gracefully in pink and blue roller skates. The boy’s fluffy hair bounced a little as he skated back into the restaurant to grab someone else’s order.
You were the top of your class, but you needed a part time job. The only place that seemed fun and paid well was the roller dinner. The outfit was cute and the free food was really good. You rolled out to the cars to find the number of the order you had on your tray. Number 5, who only ordered one chocolate milkshake. You rolled up with your practiced smile but still listening to the girl behind you telling you about a kitchen. Once you fully turned around to address the costumer, you did a double take. Oh god. He knows now. It’s Connor.
Connor chuckled and took his milkshake.
“Hey, man. Nice outfit.”
