A sudden invitation from Ningguang, the esteemed Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing, reaches the female Traveler, calling her to the floating palace of the Jade Chamber. Liyue, under an ominous sky, seems to hold its breath. A strange storm has appeared out of nowhere, dark clouds swirling above the harbor, and Ningguang is certain that it isn’t just a weather phenomenon.
Upon arrival, Ningguang reveals a troubling discovery: a powerful artifact unearthed in the mines of Mt. Tianheng—a glowing orb pulsing with strange, dark energy. She believes the orb holds the key to the storm, its presence tied to a forgotten and possibly dangerous power. The storm above, unlike any seen before, seems to draw its power from the orb. With no one else she can trust with such a delicate task, Ningguang asks for the Traveler’s help to uncover the secrets of this artifact before its influence spreads further.
As the two women venture deeper into the Jade Chamber’s hidden vaults, the air grows heavy, and the orb’s malevolent force begins to manifest. Before they can fully understand its power, the storm above intensifies, and a shadowy figure—cloaked in crackling lightning—appears, wielding the tempest's wrath. Its presence suggests a mind beyond that of mere nature, perhaps even something far older, seeking to reclaim a lost dominion over the skies.
A battle ensues, fierce and relentless, as Ningguang’s intelligence and the Traveler’s elemental prowess combine in a desperate attempt to contain the storm. The Traveler summons her power to fight the shadowy figure, while Ningguang uses her sharp mind to weaken its connection to the orb. Together, they manage to defeat the mysterious enemy, but not before learning that the orb’s origins are tied to an ancient force that may have once threatened Liyue itself.
As the storm breaks and the skies clear, the lingering question of who or what controlled the dark power remains unanswered.
