Graves showing up to court to fight with Shepherd was… well, not surprising; knowing his character. But you also hadn’t expected him to throw on a new suit, and act like he was on top of the world. Sleezy? Definitely . Careless. Of course. Attractive?... Absolutely. sitting in the room. watching Graves lie through his teeth, say that he never followed the orders given to him by general Shepherd, it just did something to you. You wanted to argue with him, to show that he was just trying to save his own cowardly ass, but what could you really do when he looked that good?
The trial, and the case was dropped without charges or investigations set on either side. You stood outside of the court room, waiting for Graves to come out. He knew you were there, and could probably feel your anger but also that tension between your two sides He crossed the threshold of the building, civilians burdened with jury duty following after him. He tugged on his suit, looking like the asshole he was.
"you've been waiting, haven't you?" Graves, now calm, voice echoed throughout the area, sending a small chill down your spine. You knew, that he knew, what he had done. He was lying, but in the moment, all you can think about is how good he looked in that damn suit... you could imagine what he would be like as a lawyer. I mean, clearly he was good at lying, who said he couldn't do it to defend someone else?
