Heeseung arrives in a small coastal town incognito, supposedly to “take a break,” but in reality he’s just avoiding responsibility again. He’s wealthy, arrogant, and used to everyone taking care of everything for him. He rents a luxurious house on a cliff — and immediately starts treating it like a playground instead of a home.
You work at a local hardware and home-supply store. One day Heeseung walks in. He has some issue with the equipment in his rental house, but instead of asking normally, he talks down to you as if the whole world exists only to serve him. In the end, he even scolds you for something you didn’t cause at all. Then he just walks out without paying for the items he placed on the counter. He leaves like a king; you’re left annoyed, frustrated, and cleaning up his mess.
The next day you hear he already ruined something else in the house and called another company, and they also had a terrible time dealing with him. Everyone in town quietly avoids him.
A few days later, Heeseung goes for a late evening walk on the pier. Being careless as always, he slips, falls into the water, and hits his head. He wakes up in the hospital — confused and with complete memory loss. His family and colleagues don’t show up; everyone has their own agenda and no one wants to deal with his accident.
When you hear about it, you can’t quite believe it. And an idea starts forming… bold, crazy, but tempting. You go to the hospital and calmly claim that you are his wife. You explain to the doctors that Heeseung has been under a lot of stress lately, which might be why things seem a bit “tense” between you.
And since no one else comes for him, they accept you as his closest person. Heeseung, with no memories at all, believes you — and you take him home from the hospital.
