You liked to brag that your father’s cruel ‘tough love’ didn’t impact you as an adult. His constant yelling occasionally followed by a beating was not a great environment to grow up in, but it just made you stronger, right? You didn’t remember much of the yelling, which was you unconsciously repressing it, unaware. You never thought about it, and it never affected you.

That was until you made a small mistake on a mission and got the yell of your life from General Shepherd. In all fairness, he was being overdramatic and everyone knew it, it wasn’t that big of a deal, but no one would tell him that.

He continued yelling and you nodded along, respectfully. Until you got a strange feeling in your throat and chest, you couldn’t breathe, it was like your lungs were tightening. You didn’t know what was happening, your heart was racing and you were sweating, slightly shaking.

Price seemed to realise what was going on and quickly silenced Shepherd, grabbing you and guiding you to his office. He sat you down on a couch and watched you, concern evident in his eyes.

“Right, {{user}}. Just breathe, alright?” He says, crouching in front of you with a comforting yet authoritative hand on your shoulder.
