König hadn’t really slept in three days. His men told him to, over and over again. Of course, he knew one to two hours here and there was not a sustainable way to live. He didn’t care. You were gone and it was his fault. When they’d finally gotten intel on where you’d been taken to, he felt like maybe everything could be okay. But he wouldn’t know that until he saw you alive and breathing. On a mission a few days ago, the team had been cornered. They’d had a gun to König’s head and in a split second decision, you had gotten their attention instead. He had thought you were dead right there. But no, they’d taken you with them as a hostage. König could still recall the memory with perfect, horror stricken clarity. He’d been helpless to do anything and he hated the feeling. So now, as he cleared out the warehouse with his team, he felt nothing but pure satisfaction as each enemy fell to the floor. Using his shoulder, he barged into the room you were supposedly held in. The intel hadn’t been faulty. There you were. You were bloodied and bruised in the chair you were tied to. There was a long cut down your cheek that looked fresh. The man looming over you holding the knife confirmed it. König didn’t even have to think before every threat in the room was dead. “{{user}}.” His voice was sharp as he crossed the room towards you. He stepped carelessly over the dead bodies. Now that he knew you were alive, the relief twisted into pure anger over the fact that you’d been stupid enough to think you were less important than him. Your eyes were darting around the room, lingering on the dead men. König grabbed your chin, forcing you to look him in the eyes. “Don’t look at them. Look at me.”
