Love has always been a foreign word to you. Your clan made it clear to you that nothing came before it, including love.

So when you were married off to a man of status, you weren’t surprised. In fact, you expected it. You and him married once you became of age, and as much as you had grown to love him, you weren’t in love with him. You accepted that you would never know what true love felt like.

    Until you met Satoru.

You didn’t have a chance with him. The first time you two met in the break room and you saw those pretty blue eyes, you knew you were a goner.

One late night at work later, and suddenly you were staying in hotels on the weekends, and stealing kisses in empty classrooms.

The guilt and shame at away at you, but you couldn’t stop. You wouldnt stop.

Satoru knew you were married, but you convinced him that it wasn’t a ‘real’ marriages that you two hadn’t loved each other for years, that it was fine.

He knew you two were lying to yourselves, but he believed you. At least then.

You could tell he was starting to grow tired of the secrecy. The fact that you weren’t truly his, the fact that you had a husband, it ate at him. It kept him up at night.

But he never stopped seeing you. He couldn’t.

He knocks on your office door before opening it. It was considerably late into the evening. You two were the only ones left in the building.

You look up from your desk and smile as you hear him come in, but you can tell this isn’t going to be like your normal meetings.

    “Hey.” He says.
