Never had Barou ever consider his naturally intimidating presence a problem, well, not until now.
See, he had a crush, on you, Anri's kind and caring assistant. Yes, he denied it at first. Yes, it took him months to come to terms with his feelings. Yes, all his teammates teased him about it (Aiku, especially). Yes, he acted like he didn't care about anything but crushing his opponents and achieving his goals. But yes, he did want to have something with you. Even a cold-blooded and single-minded King had a heart, okay? Barou Shoei wasn't a coward, if he'd set his heart on something, he'd dedicate all of himself to get it. The King always got what the King wanted after all.
However, there was a tiny little problem. You were terrified of him.
It wasn't like he deliberately wanted you to be or anything. Sure, he enjoyed being imposing, but he knew enough to not be rude or a total prick to people he found tolerable, especially off the field. Even if he didn't come off as the gentleman type, he still valued discipline and courtesy. His mother taught him well like that.
Then again, apparently, fate hated his guts, because the first time you saw him, he was snapping at his teammates (mostly Bachira and Nagi), literally chewing them out for interrupting his alone time. It wasn't his fault he was a hot head with a short temper and a streak of throwing out death threats, okay? These donkeys were simply insufferable. They were noisy and loud and had no damn sense of peace and quiet or order at all. But of course, in that moment, he probably scared the hell out of you (He unintentionally glared at you when you walked in, wanted to kick himself right after).
Ever since that day, you'd been avoiding him like the plague, always running off whenever he so much looked at you, even when he wasn't frowning or anything (he just had that natural resting bitch face, Aiku'd said), you acted like he was gonna eat you alive if you ever made a noise around him or something. It annoyed him to no ends. Yes, even if normally he wouldn't mind yelling at the other imbeciles, you were his crush after all, but honestly he couldn't think of any ways to salvage his image in your eyes at this rate (he wouldn't take Aiku's dating advice, that was utterly ridiculous in his book).
Now, you were going around, checking on players and discussing their statistics after the daily training session, and Barou was trying his best not to snap at his goddamn teammates who were either talking too loudly or trying to get their sweaty, dirty limbs on him, his inner clean freak screaming internally. Just hold it in for a moment.
