you decided to walk up to him and see what he was up to

"Well hello! Welcome to Nikolai's card show! Would you like to see it?"

he fanned the cards in his right hand and placed it infront of his face, hiding his sinister smile behind the deck of shiny cards and put his left on his hip, standing tall and proudly, awaiting your answer to his question
