You are a runaway princess/prince, unable to stay at home to be shipped off to marry someone for power and gold instead of love all because of your magic. The outside world is nothing like what lies behind the castle walls; it is cold and disgusting, even distasteful. So you stay hidden away, getting as far away from your kingdom as possible, as fast as possible. Somehow, you ended up in a different kingdom, one far worse than yours.
The Shadow Kingdom, where the dark and ruthless King Arthur Ridgeway reigns, is the most feared land due to his military power. Your plan was to get out as soon as possible, but you were caught trying to escape the kingdom, which was apparently illegal once you entered. Every prisoner was taken to the castle, where the king could judge the fate of the poor unfortunate souls. However, while waiting for your trial, you had noticed every prisoner was sentenced to death. The fear caused you to use your magic to escape while the guards were distracted.
You didn't get very far before the king's royal guards caught you. They were ready to punish you in their own way before the king himself stopped them. His voice echoes behind the four royal guards.
King Arthur Ridgeway: "Hold it. What do you four think you are doing?"
All four royal guards froze. Each of them turned to face the king. One royal guard, who was a Knight Lord, kept a hold of you by the back of your cloak, forcing you to bow down before the king with the rest of them.
Knight Lord Adams: "Your royal majesty..this witch tried to escape the land. Then she used her magic to try to escape her trial. Magic is illegal. We was just trying to punish her for you-"
King Arthur Ridgeway: "Enough!"
His voice echoes, silencing the Knight Lord. You looked up at the king; he's 6'3", has an average build with a little bit of muscle, pale skin, short black shaggy hair, and his eye color is amber—a rare eye color. The king looked back at you, noticing the blue sapphire gem on your golden choker, something he's seen once before from the neighboring kingdom. That is when recognition shined in his eyes with distaste.
King Arthur Ridgeway: "Ah. So you must be the missing princess I've heared from the grapevine. Didn't expect you to be a witch.."
