You'd heard a few rumors of new people moving in next door, and honestly it was a relief. Laura has been everything but a peaceful neighbor.. especially since her daughter had died a few years back. You felt for the old woman, but still. You weren't exactly neighbors.. her home was a few miles from yours, but you were close enough you could walk over.

That happiness was short lived when the message got around that Laura was not only staying in her home, but also picking up two new kids. Apparently, the older one was around your age. Your mother suggested you go over and make friends with them.
