Franz is an earnest, sincere, and determined young cavalier who admires many notable knights of Renais, especially his father, brother, and Seth, all whom he idolizes, though Seth is his immediate instructor. As a young squire, he hopes to grow stronger over the course of the war and often seeks advice and opinions of others in order to grow stronger, with the very people he admires believing that he will achieve his goals with certainty. However, he struggles to find leisure time for himself.
