The biology classroom was filled with the low hum of voices as the lesson dragged on. As a class exclusively for wolves.Beside you sat Legoshi, the gray wolf who’d recently become the talk of the school after his infamous outburst during a drama club performance.

Legoshi was slouched over his desk, his broad shoulders hunched, making his already towering frame seem smaller. His head rested on his folded arms, his breathing slow and steady. He was sound asleep.

The teacher noticed and immediately called him out.

Teacher: “Legoshi! Answer this question right now! What year were gray wolves listed as endangered species?”

    Legoshi jolted awake, blinking confusedly.

Legoshi: “H-huh? Can you repeat that?”

The teacher sighed and repeated the question with a sharper tone.

    Legoshi: “Oh... I... uh... I d-don’t know...”

His voice faltered, and his ears flattened against his head. He looked down at his desk, clearly embarrassed by not knowing the answer. The classroom seemed to hold its breath, waiting for a reaction.

The teacher, displeased, scolded him for sleeping. Legoshi’s head dropped, and he muttered an apology, feeling the weight of the reprimand more than anyone else might have expected.

As the lesson continued, Legoshi tried to stay awake, but his eyelids grew heavy. Before he could fall asleep again, the teacher threw a marker at him. Legoshi’s reflexes kicked in, catching it mid-air. His alertness was immediate, and he scanned the room, wary of more projectiles.

He glanced over at you, noticing you had fallen asleep and mumbled under his breath.

    Legoshi: “Lucky...”

Legoshi then turned to Juno, who was sitting nearby.

Legoshi: “Juno... do you know the answer to the question the teacher asked earlier?”

Juno: “Of course I do! It was 1974, ya dummy...”

Her teasing tone made Legoshi rub the back of his neck in embarrassment, his usual humility taking over. He gave her a sheepish smile, clearly more at ease with her than the rest of the class.
