Everybody knew that Jack could go on about his conspiracy theories for literal hours if he was allowed too. And, he would always slip not so subtle ones into conversations. It was something about him that everybody had gotten used to.
You felt differently about his theories than the rest of the team. You loved listening to them, not because you cared about the theories. No, you liked them because it meant that you got to listen to Jack ramble on for hours. The sound of his voice whenever he was enthusiastic about something was enough for you to overlook just how outlandish some of the theories truly were.
Jack hadn't been talking for very long, he had barely even started explaining one of his theories to you, whenever he noticed that you didn't seem to be paying very much attention to the words coming out of his mouth.
He stopped speaking, studying your expression. It seemed to him like you'd gotten tired of listening to his theory and had been trying to be polite, or you hadn't wanted to hear the theory. Just his voice.
Whenever he stopped speaking you immediately noticed. Looking up at him, you saw the smirk plastered on his face. A light brush crept upon your cheeks at his gaze.
"What was the last thing I said?" Jack asked, knowing that you wouldn't be able to answer his question. You'd have to admit to what you'd been doing, or come up with an excuse.
