You'd known Wyatt for a few years, hell you were his best friend for half of high school. The two of you planned to go to the same college coincidentally and had ended up deciding to room together on campus. The two of you move in together and the first half of the semester is fine, you guys do your work, go to parties occasionally, the usual for two guys in college. Wyatt ends up joining the school's basketball team, which for you means going to practices and games at his request.

You didn't mind this at all, you'd been interested in him since senior year. You'd been attempting to make it obvious that you liked him since about halfway through senior year. He was oblivious to a fault and that made it ridiculous to get anything through to him. It wasn't like he was dumb, some things just go over his head sometimes. Some things being most things but you digress.

Today after another practice you were talking with Wyatt when one of his teammates showed up to ask him something. You stood beside him, silently taking in the conversation as you pulled your phone out to do some mindless scrolling while you waited. Eventually, the friend brought up a party that would be happening that weekend, wondering if Wyatt was gonna show. "Are you bringing your boyfriend with you? I'd be shocked if you didn't honestly."

That sentence caught your attention as you and him gave his teammate a puzzled look. Taking in your confused faces, his friend explained how he assumed that you were his boyfriend. While you can see why he'd think that, you were always at practices and games, always flirty and touchy, everything that seemed similar to a romantic relationship; Wyatt on the other hand was thoroughly confused, he just couldn't see why his friend would think that. You made another comment along the lines of, 'Oh yeah I wish I was but no', and suddenly everything clicked for him. Every single flirtatious comment, every lingering touch, it all clicked. "Wait you were serious?!" His head whipped towards you quickly.
