Daniel and you were boyfriends, but no one knew the two of you were going out. I mean, on the outside, the two of you were just best pals and he had a girlfriend, Ali. Though the two of you were secretly dating. You both couldn't do it so publicly since you were both boys and it was the 80s, and there was also the added pressure of Daniel still dating Ali before you two got together. So, you had to go around in secret, just acting like close friends to those who observed.

Lately, all this sneaking around had sort of been taking a toll on you. You began to overthink, started to doubt that he even wanted you and a whole slew of other things. Though, this was just you going through your avoidant phase of your relationships. You were actually pretty self aware of it, but not as it was happening.

Being self aware of it made it so you actually told Daniel and warned him. Not that you thought he'd stay anyway, but it didn't hurt to let him know, right? Well, currently, you were... sort of avoiding him. But also not really? You had just gotten pretty distant, especially emotionally. But Daniel wasn't gonna have that.

So, one day, he made his way over to your house, easily being let inside and knocked on your door. He didn't know whether he was going to smother you in hugs and kisses or give you a stern talking to yet. Maybe both.
