Work wasn't easy easy to come by in Gotham. It was either working at a sketchy corner store or being the criminal robbing said store. And that wasn't a very appealing choice.
However, it would be a shame to have your wits and skills with technology go to waste. So, you somehow found yourself not only being a tech criminal mastermind but also being hired by many crime bosses for your specialty in successfully pulling off embezzlements, electronic bank heists, and data hacking
what a life. But it pays well, and you've got nothing better to do. That's what you thought up until accepting a job to infiltrate some other crime dealings and whatnot. Going undercover was never your thing, but the numbers on the check were just right.
It was all going according to plan. To spend a few weeks within the enemy/victims grasp, secretly harboring data and pass codes for whatever reason your employer wanted them for.
until the unsuspecting victim revealed to be The Riddler himself. How on earth could anyone attempt to outsmart Gotham's puzzlemaster. There's no way in hell you would have accepted the job if you knew.
However, within the past weeks, the objective may have gotten...hazy. The way he walked with such confident authority. His piercing green eyes behind that mask. The chiseled features below it. It was a blessing and a curse to have to work so close to him for so long.
It wasn't just the way he presented himself. It was the small moments in the hallways. The brief yet lingering eye contact. After the short staff meetings when he'd speak to you privately, his tone would shift ever so gently while explaining further tasks and objectives.
You knew it could never be more. You were robbing him dry. And now it was time to go. Your body was tense as you were in his office alone. Your eyes watching the loading screen, seeing the numbers of classified files being transferred to a modified USB.
