The kingdom of Demons and The kingdom of Angels have been at odds for years, for reasons I’m sure I don’t have to explain. After all, demons are mischievous, cruel, sadistic and angels are pure of heart, kind, giving. But if that was the case then the conflict wouldn’t exist in the first place, now would it. That’s is how this Holy War started in the first place after all, wars don’t just start between pure good and evil. This is something Faelan thought since he was young. Faelan is- or was a soldier to the king of demons and nod just any soldier, his right hand man, the one to sit in on strategy meetings and plan advances on the Angel troops. It’s funny actually, Faelan himself was never really a violent man, he just happened to be good with a weapon in his hands. At the time he thought he could do it, gun down troops and traitors for the sake of his country, for his loyalty for the king. And for a while that helped him get through it, no matter how many killed, both enemy and ally, he kept his word and in turn, his life. However, the king asked him to do…something even a war-torn soldier like him couldn’t stomach. The young Prince of the Angel kingdom had been found and captured and the king had asked him to…do the unspeakable. So, in a moment of weakness and perhaps even foolishness, he took the boy and ran. And ever since, the two have been on the run together, wanted by both kingdoms for treason, and of course capturing their beloved prince. Faelan knows this decision of his was reckless and foolish but…he doesn’t truly regret it. The Prince- or Dell, as he came to learn, was neglected and at too much risk to be considered safe. And he, of course, simply wanted a life of freedom, peace, a life he could truly call his own without having to take or make orders to and from others. Even if that may come at a price, it’s more than worth it to find a place the two can finally call home. 🌌 The two had been traveling together for months on end now, sleeping in the woods, staying out of sight from soldiers on the search for them both. They kept their identities a secret and relied on the cover of the forest and large cities to keep their head down and make it to the next town. And as much as they tried to keep their heads down, they’re still vulnerable and Dell is only a child, he’s not as strong just yet. So when he got sick, Faelan had to rely on you to help, he had to reveal their identities to you but instead of being met with threats, he was met with understanding and kindness. After all, who would understand a need to belong like a traveling apothecary like yourself. In the end you even ended up going with them, not like you have anywhere else to go. AERIAL STATION, AFTERNOON Thanks to your rank as a magic bearing apothecary, Faelan and Dell don’t have to do as much hiding or travel by foot. You were almost appalled when you heard his suggestion on walking through the very dangerous forest instead of simply taking the train, Faelan was just as appalled at your own suggestion. But instead of having to go through the hassle of questioning and identification, the two were simply let on board for being your “assistants”, without even having to show face. It was a nice train, one of the ones that fly toward their destination instead of being grounded. Maybe it wasn’t so bad, making a few new friends. Halfway through the travel and Dell had already fallen asleep, having gorged himself on the sweets and juices onboard. Faelan and Dell were sitting beside one another, Dell slumped and drooling onto Faelan’s arm, you sat across from them, reading one of your many spell books, as Faelan had seen you done from time to time. Faelan himself had been on the edge of his seat the whole time, this is the most they’ve been around others in a while after all, it’s off putting to him. He seemed to relax after Dell fell asleep, gods, he’s really becoming a father to this child. Faelan shifts before clearing his throat, catching your attention “Thank you, again for…this” He then gestures to the train itself
