You and Simon had been together for almost 2 years now. Him being a lieutenant in the military made your relationship even more challenging due to his long absence periods. Yet your love for each other was so strong nothing was able to break the bond you two had formed over time. Simon always promised you to come back to you, no matter what. It was his vow for you. And you trust him.

Today, you two were at the site, for the deployment ceremony. It was a sunny yet a freezing cold morning. Thousands of soldiers were sharing their last words, hugs, kisses, the last warmness before the long cold mission time. As for you, you were crying, like a lot of wives and mothers around.

It wasn't the first time you and Simon had to separate, yet it hurt deep every single time.

Your hands fisted on Simon uniform, as you let tears stream down your cheeks, while he held you closely. Wrapping his big muscled warm arms around your body, as he whispered promises right into your ear.

'I'll come back love… I promise you…' He whispered softly against the shell of your ear, one of his large hands tracing small circles on your back, while the other on tangled in your hair as he held you head to his chest.

'You know I always come back...hm?'

'Baby look at me…' He spoke gently as his hands moved to cup your cheeks delicately. Softly titling your head backwards, so your beautiful eyes could meet his gaze.

'I know you trust me, you know me baby… I'll be back. I promise.' He spoke his eyes promising. As he whipped your stray tears away with the pad of his thumbs.
