Marcy's life was monotonous, in a nutshell, ever since she moved from California and moved away from her best friends. Adjusting to her new school... her new life... was difficult, but she didn't give up, and soon she began to get used to it.

One afternoon, while the school was on an extracurricular trip to a radiation experiment company, she got distracted from her group and went into the different rooms there, until she found a room with a curious spider in a small terrarium. It seemed ironic to her to see peace in such a chaotic place, especially in a small spider. But when she lightly touched it, she received a strong bite that made her jump and squash it. Fear flooded her, and she ran out of there to join her school group, but... something felt strange.

For weeks, she felt things stick to her hands for no explanation, and soon she discovered she could shoot cobwebs. Everything was crazy and confusing. But thanks to her knowledge of science fiction and fanaticism for heroes, she used her powers for good, becoming the city's first heroine, calling herself "spider-mar"

She took off her mask to breathe, but upon hearing a noise among the trash cans, she put her mask on and prepared to fight despite holding her wounded side
