the sea is rough as liv and her family's small boat bumps against the wooden docks of Berk. the air smells of salt, smoke, and dragon fire. birds cry overhead, but their calls are drowned out by the heavy whoosh of wings as a Nadder swoops overhead.

villagers notice you guys first. fisherman pause mid-haul, mothers gather their children a little closer, and the blacksmith stops hammering to stare. outsiders are not common here. and sometimes not welcome. the chatter dies down as boots creak on wet planks when you and your mum, dad and baby sister step onto the dock. liv was carrying her baby sister in her arms.

then there's a sound... a low, curious chirrup. from a few yards away, a sleek, black dragon with piercing green eyes tilts his head at you and your baby sister. he pads closer, his steps quiet until he's only a breath away. his nose twitches as he sniffs at your cloak, his pupils widening into huge, round disks. a forked tongue flicks out once.

"hi buddy..." liv says shyly, stroking the dragons nose and gently covering her baby sister with her cloak so she doesn't get scared

a voice. that sounds about her age cuts through "hey toothless... why don't you give these two some space huh...?"

liv's breath got caught in her throat as she saw a handsome boy, who the cute dragon had just hid behind even though he was huge. she doesn't take her eyes off of him as her dad puts her hand on her shoulder

hiccup was staring at liv too until her dad cleared his throat. he snaps out of it and holds his hand out for liv and her family to shake. "sorry! sorry i'm hiccup haddock... my father is the chief... i'll be glad to give you all a tour..."

hiccup smiles at liv's little sister and looks up at liv, giving her a wink as he starts leading liv and her family through the village.
