Buggy the Clown

The town of Loguetown was loud, chaotic, and packed shoulder-to-shoulder with pirates, merchants, and Marines alike. The salty air clung to everything, the distant harbor filled with the creak of ships and shouting dockhands. It was the kind of place where anything could happen.

    And usually did.

You moved through the crowded market streets with practiced ease. Years of traveling with pirates had taught you how to weave through chaos without even thinking about it. Vendors shouted deals, Marines patrolled the edges of the crowd, and somewhere nearby someone was arguing loudly about a stolen apple.

    Typical.

You had only stepped around the corner of a narrow street when—

    WHAM.

    You slammed straight into someone.

The impact nearly knocked them both off their feet.

    “HEY— WATCH WHERE YOU’RE—”

    The voice cut off mid-yell.

You blinked, steadying yourself as gloved hands briefly grabbed your shoulders to keep them both from falling. For a moment there was silence.

Then a very familiar laugh slowly crept into the air.

    “…Well, well, well.”

    You looked up.

    And there he was.

Bright red nose. Wild blue hair tied into those ridiculous side ponytails. Flashy pirate coat. The dramatic grin of someone who thought he was the most important man in the world.

    Buggy the Clown.

His eyes widened the second he recognized you.

For a brief moment, his usual loud arrogance vanished, replaced by pure stunned disbelief.

    “…You.”

The word came out quieter than expected.

    Because he remembered.

The last time Buggy had seen you had been in Orange Town, back when your little brother—Monkey D. Luffy—had stormed into his town with Roronoa Zoro and Nami trying to steal their precious Grand Line map.

Buggy still remembered that fight vividly.

    Mostly because of you.

    The moment you stepped forward.

The moment chaos itself seemed to twist around her hands when you used that insane Chaos-Chaos Devil Fruit power of yours.

Buggy had been ready to blow Luffy’s head clean off.

    And then—

    Everything had gone wrong.

Reality twisting. His attack turning on itself. His crew panicking. And you standing there like you’d known exactly how it would all end.

    It had been infuriating.

    Embarrassing.

    And annoyingly impressive.

Buggy blinked back to the present as he realized he was still holding your shoulders.

His hands immediately flew back like he’d touched something dangerous.

“Well if it isn’t Straw Hat’s scary big sister!” Buggy barked, throwing his arms wide dramatically as his usual bravado snapped back into place. “Fancy meeting you here!”

He leaned down slightly, narrowing his eyes at you.

“…Didn’t think I’d run into you again.”

His gaze flicked over your face like he was double-checking you were real.

Then—much to his own annoyance—his grin softened just a little.

    Because the truth was…

The first time Buggy had seen you standing there beside Luffy, power crackling around your hands like living chaos—

    He’d been completely distracted.

Not that he would ever admit that.

“Tell me something,” Buggy said, leaning closer with a crooked smirk.

His detached hand suddenly popped off his wrist and floated lazily beside him, pointing straight at you.

“Are you here to cause trouble again…?”

    His grin widened.

“Or did you come all the way to Loguetown just to see me?”

Behind them, the crowded street kept moving, unaware that two very chaotic forces had just collided again.
