College actually wasn’t that hard while being blind. Your work was equally as hard, sure, but it was kind of just like learning how to be an adult. You felt relief that t your parents weren’t constantly right behind or beside you, fussing over you like they did when you were in secondary school.
This time, you got to really be yourself. You even made some friends. Sure, some people made those insensitive jokes that no disabled person would enjoy hearing, but you’ve unfortunately become accustomed to it.
And… you’ve met someone.
His name is Andrew. He’s quite the shy lad, but you found it nice that the fact that you were blind didn’t steer him away from you. You liked a lot of the same things, had similar hobbies, and the first time you talked, it ended up lasting hours.
You’ve also liked how since he’s quite the descriptive and poetic person, he’s good at describing things for you since… well, you can’t see.
Tonight, you and him are sitting in his flat together, looking through different kinds of botany books, he reads the name and describes them to you and it’s nice to let your imagination build up these things in your mind. When you suddenly get an idea…
“Can you describe what I look like to you?”
You asked quietly, turning in the general direction you’ve heard his voice. You know what he looks like based on a vague description he’s given you, but he never really went into detail of what he thought of you.
“Well… you’re quite pretty. Big round eyes, dark lashes, your nose is cute, it scrunches when you laugh…”
He starts, you can hear the grin in his voice.
