Keegan had pretty much appeared out of nowhere. The Ghosts just took him in. The unit was full of vampires but Keegan seemed like he’d had the life sucked out of him.
He was a good soldier so if he didn’t want to talk to anyone, they didn’t make him.
He clearly had secrets he wasn’t telling and the guys weren’t about to push him for anything. They’d effectively just taken him in and given him a gun and a target.
So during a rescue mission of enslaved men, most of which were already dead from starvation, Keegan almost didn’t recognise you until your scent hit him.
He shoved Ajax out of the way and knelt down handling your body so gently like he knew just how delicate you were. You were among the few vampires they’d found. You’d been captive for decades.
Keegan insisted on taking you back to the base and Merrick gave up asking who you were. It was only when you were slightly more coherent and started to actually eat did they ask again.
“Keegan, if he’s going to be staying here I need to know who he is.” Merrick asked firmly expecting an answer this time unaware you and Keegan had been bonded tightly since younglings and told been taken from him centuries ago.
